Make this quick and easy sourdough bread using your bread maker to do the hard work and the last rise in your oven with just the oven light on.

add ingredients in order to the bread maker container.
1 cup +1 tablespoon water
1 tbsp. butter cut into pieces
11\2 tsp. dry skim milk powder
11/2 tsp. sugar
3 cups all-purpose flour or bread flour
1/2 cup sourdough starter
3/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. yeast
Add salt and yeast on opposite sides. (salt will kill the yeast)
Set on dough setting, when it is done put dough in a 1lb. loaf pan sprayed with vegetable spray. Cover with a clean towel and let rise for the last time about 45 minutes or until dough is doubled. Bake in 350* oven for 30-40 minutes depending on how dark you like your bread.
How to make your own starter:
1 cup flour
1/2 cup water
stir until smooth, use a good-sized glass jar, with a lid that has holes in it, and let sit on your counter. Every day take half of the starter out and feed it by adding another cup of flour and water stir it until smooth and leave it on the counter. If you want keep in the refrigerator and feed it once a week. When you bring it out of the fridge feed it before using it.
