Here's my full process for making clickable YouTube thumbnails inside Final Cut Pro, no Photoshop or Canva needed. In this FCP tutorial I'll cover freezing a frame properly with Hold Frame using Shift H, using the Magnetic Mask to cut yourself out cleanly, building simple backgrounds, and why compound clips matter once you start repositioning things. Then color correcting so your subject pops, the subtle big head effect, creating a glow both with a plugin and for free, adding props for a more finished look, working with gradients, outlines, and depth, a trick for making text look like it's sitting behind an object, and exporting at the right size for YouTube. This is the condensed version of a longer walkthrough I made for channel members, tightened up so it's useful for everyone.
