YouTube Basic Training 2019 -- How to create a video
This is video number 5 in the 6-part series. In this installment we discuss the elements you can use to create your video. These elements include:
THE HOOK:
This is the opening scene in which you tell the viewer what the video is all about. Try to make it enticing and create interest so they will stay with you at least long enough to determine whether the video is something they're interested in. Be sure to deliver on your promise.
THE INTRO:
This is the second element that gives the viewer a few seconds of your logo along with any specific audio you've selected to use for your branding. Don't make your intro overly long. Viewers don't like to spend time watching an intro. They came to see the video.
THE A-ROLL:
This is the main body of your video in which you show the viewer what they've come to see, to learn, or to experience with you. During this portion of the video you can incorporate other visual elements including B-Roll, screen shots, cross dissolves into other video sequences, etc. This is where your creative genius will shine.
THE TEASER:
This is a promise of something that's going to be shown or explained later in the video. The purpose of the teaser is to keep the viewer interested and watching so you can accumulate longer view durations and additional watch time. Teasers are best used toward the beginning of the video, but can be included at multiple points if you have additional information you're promising to share later in the video. Don't forget to include that promised info.
THE B-ROLL:
This footage can be incorporated at any point (or multiple points) in the video where you need to go into more detail or show a specific element or procedure. It can also be used as a time- or location-transition sequence.
THE SIGN-OFF:
This is the end of the video where you can thank the viewer for watching, clear up any mis-statements made during the video, and ask them to LIKE or SHARE the video, and SUBSCRIBE to your channel to be notified when you upload more content. It can serve as both a thank you as well as a call to action.
THE END-SCREEN:
This section of the video can be used to include links to other videos or playlists that the viewer can click on to stay on your channel and add additional watch time to your channel.
Thanks for watching.
I hope it was informative and enjoyable.
