In this video I install the vent and leash plugs into the chambered wooden surfboard. Venting a wooden surfboard is very important since there is one large empty air chamber that will expand when the air heats up, that air has to go somewhere, the vent plug allows for this.
The leash plug is so you can attach a leash to the surfboard :)

Here is a sample of a vent, looks like there are one that you don't need to machine off the flange, do a search for "Milvent":
