Make this cute watermelon train for a kids birthday or baby shower. I choose Peppa Pig but use any cartoon characters your child likes. Step by step instructions for you to follow along to make your train!
Supplies:
-2 small watermelons. One is slightly larger for the engine of the train
-cutting board
-sharp knifes
-pen to mark out your cutting lines
-melon baller
-bowls to hold your watermelon pieces
-3 short bamboo skewer
- toothpicks
-3 blackberries to make the smoke stack
-sharp scissors or pruning shears to cut off ends of toothpicks and skewers
-turnip to make the wheels
-1 small and 1 medium round cookie cutters
-8 blueberries
-Cartoon characters printed out on a 110 lb piece of paper (card stock)
-paper scissors
-tape
Note:
-Cut up the extra pieces of watermelon and serve on the side
-Don't waste your turnip pieces. They are high in Vitamin C and can be eaten raw. Make some julienne slices and top a salad with them. Or chop them up and add them to your favorite home made soup recipe.
