Here is a simple running robot which you can easily make yourself. It has two C wheels driven by one plastic geared DC motor ( 100 RPM). The legs are made form PVC pipe. small small humps were made on the outer side of each leg using hot glue.
this kind of legs are known as Wheg. Wheeled leg. It is actually hopping between the steps. See the slow motion part. Its motion is like Kangaroo.
