This video is the first in a 4 part series on Creating a Severed Hand or Arm. We will be going into detail on using alginate to cast a hand and doing a clay pour in to the alginate mold to create a duplicate of an actors hand. Please be very careful working with melted clay. Use protective equipment so you don't get burned.
And as always, NEVER USE PLASTER DIRECTLY ON A PERSONS HAND.
Please don't be cheap and try to use Ultracal or Hydrocal soaked bandages instead of "Plaster Bandages" It will take an hour or more for those plasters to set and they get very hot when curing. Plaster Bandages set in minutes. Its the best and most effective way to cover an alginate mold of someones hand. Please use your brain and don't put another person at risk of being injured because you are trying to be cheap.
