Make up effects artists are sometimes asked to make simple props to go along with their makeups. This video shows you how to create a simple rock using a scrap piece of styrofoam, liquid latex and acrylic paint. There is no need to do any molding. This is a simple and easy technique for creating prop rocks.
This entire process can be done without using liquid latex or prosthetic adhesive. You can just paint the entire styrofoam carved rock with only acrylic paints. It just will not be as durable. But it would be a great way to practice. :)
Materials Needed:
Styrofoam
Acrylic paint (waterbase craft paint)
Knife (to cut styrofoam - be careful knifes are sharp)
Liquid latex
Prosthetic adhesive (optional)
disposable 1 inch paint brush or foam brush
