The Trojan Horse of Amaro cocktails?
The Rum Monte Sour is like hiding veggies in pasta sauce for kids, if you are on the fence in regards to Amaro this might just be the drink to get you over that fence and enjoying all the wonders Amari have to offer!
While the rum may come first in the name, but this sour is all about the Montenegro. On the more approachable end of the amaro category, it has converted many a drinker to the bitter side. In a classic sour it is fresh and approachable, with the rum just providing a slightly boozier backbone to the citrus and spice of the Montenegro.
SPECS:
45ml (1 1/2oz) Amaro Montenegro
15ml (1/2oz) dark rum
30ml (1oz) lemon juice
5ml (1/6oz) sugar syrup
10-15ml egg white
Orange twist to garnish
