The Magic Ring / Circle is a simple loop of yarn that you can crochet into, then pull on the tail to adjust the tightness of the centre ring. This is particularly handy if you are crocheting baskets or toys and you want to have a solid centre.

In this short video, we show you how to make a magic circle on your hands. We use both British and American crochet terminology in this video.

We're grateful to have friends who are great crochet designers and teachers. Thank you to Carissa Browning, the knit and crochet designer who taught this to us first!
