In this video i demonstrate how i make a chess board using walnut wood and birdseye maple wood, i use the table saw to make my cuts with jigs that i made to help create repeatable cuts and make it safer to cut with my hands out of the way of the blade, these same tecniques can be used to create other items and more elaborate items such as cutting boards, coasters or placemats. I have been woodturning since 2013, I love it as a creative outlet.
For me it has been a journey, from my great great grandfathers wooden bowl that i own to my fathers the community or woodturners is great, there is lots of help and support out there available at the touch of a button. don't be intimidated or scared to ask questions no matter how basic, most of all be safe in your workshop, follow all safety rules and guidelines.
use channels such as mine as inspiration and entertainment.
it is recommended to get proper training with power tools to prevent accidents
most of all remember to be creative and have fun
safe turning..
