I like my Tactical Mini Mast from SOTA Beams. It's lightweight yet sturdy and reliable. It's easy to install in the field and it can easily handle a EFHW antenna in the Inverted V shape or support a light dipole. But it's 6m long and I wanted it longer! I thought I could mount it up onto the roof rack of my Radio Van. I had to invent a special holder for that purpose. It just took a cantilever bracket, a piece of plastic chopping board, a piece of scrap aluminum, two U-clamps and few bolts and nuts. Voila! I now have the masts top-section at about 8.45 m above the ground. This video is not a how-to tutorial, it's rather a call for creativity and a nice memory of warm summer... This video also starts a new playlist on my channel entitled "A MAST IS A MUST". You may put a question mark at the end if you think the mast is not essential for the outdoors ham radio.
