In this DROPS video we show you how to increase 2 stitches on 2 rows (without leaving holes), when working back and forth. Several increases like this in height create a fine fishbone line; great for raglan for example.
BEFORE STARTING THE VIDEO:
A marker has been inserted between 2 stitches. Work to this marker.
THE VIDEO SHOWS:
1 stitch is increased after the marker, from both the right and wrong side.
RIGHT SIDE:
Move the marker onto the right needle, increase 1 stitch towards the left as follows:
Use the left needle to pick up the strand between 2 stitches from the row below, the strand is picked up from the front and you knit through the stitch-loop which lies on the back of the needle.
WRONG SIDE:
Move the marker onto the right needle, increase 1 stitch towards the right as follows:
Use the left needle to pick up the strand between 2 stitches from the row below, the strand is picked up from the back and you purl through the stitch-loop which lies on the front of the needle.

BEFORE INCREASING:

ROUND 1:
Move the marker onto the right needle, increase 1 stitch towards the left as follows:
Use the left needle to pick up the strand between 2 stitches from the round below, the strand is picked up from the front and you knit through the stitch-loop which lies on the back of the needle.
ROUND 2:
Increase 1 stitch towards the right as follows:
Use the left needle to pick up the strand between 2 stitches from the round below, the strand is picked up from the back and you knit through the stitch-loop which lies on the front of the needle.
After increasing, move the marker onto the right needle.
