A first time blooming of a new type of orchid for me means we need to hang out the flags and celebrate! I bought this Dockrillia hybrid in 2022 and admittedly it was small plant, but it has finally decided to bloom...and I LOVE it! It's a cross between two complex hybrids with no cultivar name (Dockrillia Kalon Byrne-Dimos 'Purple Wings' x Dockrillia Hof Grumpy 'Purple lip'). I had to move it while the buds were forming so I held my breath, but all is well and the flowers are gorgeous. So in this video we'll look at how I've grown it so far...and plans to add more to my collection...at some point!
