This week Plant Lovers let's look at two of my Cymbidiums that are in bloom this mid autumn and learn why!! Usually, hybrid cool climate Cymbidiums bloom late winter early spring here, but there are a few species plants that bloom in autumn and that can give you a clue as to why your plant might be in bloom now! And plants that bloom now are a great addition to your Cymbidium collection as they'll extend the blooming period of your plants by months! So a win win all round really and the colour of this yellow one, and it's fragrance, are sensational! The two plants we'll look at in this video are the species plant Cymbidium erythrostylum from Vietnam that's an autumn bloomer, and the complex hybrid Cymbidium Enzan Summer 'Sunshine', also an autumn bloomer. Half of it's species ancestors are autumn bloomers which explains a lot!
