The first thing you can do is come out from any self-denying that you are being controlled or are in a controlling relationship. Denial is not that you don't know the truth. Denial is that you know the truth or the facts; you simply just choose to ignore them. To come out of denial means to embrace reality and take control of your life. A controller's behavior should be enough evidence to suggest that the person is a controller.
