When a Samsung phone enters the "Black Screen of Death," the Android operating system is usually completely frozen, preventing the screen from firing up. Combining a specific charge cycle with a hardware-level force restart breaks this loop without losing any of your data.
Step 1: The Base Charge (Do Not Skip)If the battery is fully depleted or in a deep-discharge state, a hard reset will fail because the motherboard lacks the voltage to trigger a boot cycle. Plug your Samsung device into a standard wall outlet using an authorized charger.
Leave it alone for 15 to 20 minutes. Even if the screen stays black and the charging animation does not appear, the battery is absorbing a critical base charge in the background.
Step 2: The Samsung Force Restart Sequence Leave the charging cable plugged into the phone to provide extra current while forcing the hardware override:
.Press and Hold the Core Combination:7 to 10 seconds. Locate the Side key (Power button) and the Volume Down button. Press and hold them down simultaneously with firm pressure.
Ignore On-Screen Interruptions: Keep holding. If your screen briefly captures a screenshot or attempts to launch Bixby or Gemini, ignore it and keep pressing the keys down. Do not let go.
Release at the Logo: Booting up. The instant you feel a physical vibration or see the white Samsung Galaxy logo appear on the display, release both buttons immediately. The phone will finish booting into the regular lock screen.
