How do you export a video from After Effects without a background?
Well, first of all, to make sure that you don’t have any background in your composition, click the Transparency Grid button at the bottom of your composition window.
When you see a pattern that looks like a chessboard (which indicates that there is no background), go up to the menu, click “File” and “Export” and then select “Add to Render Queue”.
Now, in the Render Queue tab, click the text next to “Output Module”, change “Format” to “QuickTime” and change “Channels” to “RGB + Alpha” then click OK.
Now click the text next to “Output To”, to select a destination and then click “Render” to start exporting.
If you then import this clip back into After Effects, you can see that the background is completely transparent.
