Robe Trotting | 👕🇩🇰 How to Dress for Summer in Copenhagen (what to pack if you travel to Denmark) #denmark @RobeTrotting | Uploaded June 2024 | Updated October 2024, 11 hours ago.
✨ What should you pack for Copenhagen? 👇
I get asked this question a lot and there’s almost no good answer because the ever-changing and hard-to-predict weather makes it hard to advise.
🧳 Still, there are some clear tips and a brief packing list that will keep you happy if you travel to Denmark in the summer and visit Copenhagen.
1) Dress for the weather: this will mean packing clothes for rain, warm temperatures, and chilly days - because you’re likely to get them all, even on a short trip ☔️
2) Layers are your friend 🧥 when you’re not in direct sunlight it can feel about cooler than the temperature. The secret is to dress with layers you can take on or off - it can be annoying but you’re ready for everything.
3) Rainproof your wardrobe and accessories: it will probably rain, and you’ll probably hear someone tell you there’s “no bad weather, only bad clothing” so make sure you have good clothing 👢
4) Danes dress in a practical way: people in Copenhagen have adapted their wardrobes to their lifestyle - so that’s a lot of outdoor activity, biking, and walking 🚴 Wearing sturdy shoes, dark clothes, and stretchy fabric will keep you comfortable throughout the day.
5) Packing list: my described clothing in this video will get you through most days in Copenhagen: shorts and pants (even in the middle of summer), waterproof items (bags, shoes, and rain gear), casual outfits (even for a dinner out you will see many guests in denim jeans and short sleeves), and in the evening you will need a hoodie or a light jacket.
