In this video I show you how to create a spiral structure in COMSOL and also i show you how to assign different colors to domains and boundaries.
For a master thesis project we want to make a HVDC source based on wireless power transfer. We therefore needed to make a spiral structure to hold the litz wire and hence we could create a pancake coil. Talented master student, Suraj has created this structure in another 3D software and we 3D printed it. I then decided to make the same directly in COMSOL. To do so, first I explain a bit about spiral equation. We then use this information to create a programmatic curve to draw the spiral.
