While Android does not natively allow disabling the volume buttons, the most effective and safe approach is using Accessibility-based apps or button remapping apps to block or neutralize them system-wide, without requiring root access
Method 1 — Use Accessibility or Button-Blocking Apps
This method works on most phones and does not require modifying your system:
Install a trusted key-blocking app like Buttons Remapper, Button Mapper, or similar from the Google Play Store
Enable Accessibility: Go to Settings → Accessibility → Installed apps → select the app and turn on Accessibility access.
Grant necessary permissions for intercepting key presses.
Enable blocking: Within the app, choose the option to block or ignore Volume Up and Volume Down buttons.
Notes: Some system features like emergency screens, boot menus, or recovery mode will ignore these apps. Battery optimization may also stop the app unless you exclude it in Settings → Battery → Battery optimization
Method 2 — Button Remapping
These apps let you reassign volume buttons or disable them entirely:
Install a remapping app (Buttons Remapper or Button Mapper).
Grant permissions in Accessibility settings.
Reassign the Volume Up/Down buttons to “Do Nothing” to disable them, or map them to other actions, like controlling screen brightness or launching an app
