To turn off “Hey Siri” on your HomePod or HomePod mini, you can do it through the Home app on an iPhone, iPad, or Mac.
Method 1: Using the Home app (recommended)
Open the Home app on your iPhone or iPad.
Find your HomePod in the list of accessories.
Press and hold the HomePod icon.
Tap Accessory Settings (or the gear ⚙️ icon).
Scroll down to the Siri section.
Turn off “Listen for ‘Hey Siri’”.
Tap Done.

Your HomePod will stop responding when you say “Hey Siri.”

Method 2: Using your voice

You can also say:

“Hey Siri, stop listening.”

Siri will ask you to confirm. Say “Yes” and the Hey Siri feature will be disabled.

How to turn it back on

You can:

Go back into the Home app → HomePod Settings → Siri → turn on “Listen for ‘Hey Siri’”, or
Touch and hold the top of the HomePod and enable Siri again.

Note: HomePod does not have a physical microphone mute switch like some other smart speakers, so disabling “Hey Siri” is done through software settings.
