How to crochet an easy shell stitch beanie worked in simple double crochet clusters. 7 sizes included from Newborn through Adult Large.
You'll need 50 (60, 75, 85, 100, 125, 155) Yards of Worsted Weight Yarn - I used WeCrochet Swish in the Clementine colorway, an H8/5mm crochet hook, tapestry needle and soft tape measure (gauge is essential).
I've used WeCrochet Swish (100% superwash merino wool) from out of my stash. You can use your favorite worsted weight yarn for this beanie! Just check gauge to ensure the finished beanie will fit correctly.

Time Spent:
Just under 30 minutes to 3 hours, depending on size.
Gauge:
- In the round with 10 DC, Round 4 = 3 3/4" (up to 3 7/8");
- In the round with 11 DC, Round 4 = 4”
Finished Lengths:
- Newborn: 5"
- 3 - 6 Months: 5 1/4"
- 6 - 12 Months: 5 3/4"
- Toddler: 6 1/2"
- Child: 7"
- Adult Small: 8 1/2"
- Adult Large: 8 1/2" (9 1/2")
