FREE CROCHET WINE TOTE PATTERN:
Crochet Hook: H/8/5MM
Yarn: 4 Medium, Big Twist Value brand, Eggplant
~100 yds (Option 1)
~190 yds (Option 2)

Attach yarn to crochet hook using a Magic Circle (MC).
Row 1: CH 1, place 6 SC inside MC. SL st in 1st SC to join (6 total SC st).
Row 2: CH 1, place 2 SC in each st in the row (1st st of the row should be placed in the same st where you placed the SL st and CH 1 to join the previous row). Skip SL st and CH 1 and SL st in 1st SC st to join (12 total SC st).
Row 3: CH 1, place *1 SC in st 1, 2 SC in st 2 (1st st of the row should be placed in the same st where you placed the SL st and CH 1 to join the previous row). Repeat * around the row. Skip SL st and CH 1 and SL st in 1st SC st to join (18 total SC st).
Row 4: CH 1, place *1 SC in st 1 - 2, 2 SC in st 3 (1st st of the row should be placed in the same st where you placed the SL st and CH 1 to join the previous row). Repeat * around the row. Skip SL st and CH 1 and SL st in 1st SC st to join (24 total SC st).
Row 5: CH 1, place *1 SC in st 1 - 3, 2 SC in st 4 (1st st of the row should be placed in the same st where you placed the SL st and CH 1 to join the previous row). Repeat * around the row. Skip SL st and CH 1 and SL st in 1st SC st to join (30 total SC st).
Row 6: CH 1, place *1 SC in st 1 - 4, 2 SC in st 5 (1st st of the row should be placed in the same st where you placed the SL st and CH 1 to join the previous row). Repeat * around the row. Do not join when you get to the end of the row(36 total SC st).
Row 7: ***Following a continuous loop pattern, place 1 SC in the BLO of each st in the row, starting with the 1st SC st of last row. You should work directly into the BLO of the 1st st without joining at the end of the last row, this will allow your pattern to act like a spiral. From here, your rows should flow seamlessly.
Rows 8 - 40: 1 SC in the BLO of each st in each row.
Row 41: *CH 8, skip 8 st, then place 1 SC in the BLO of the next 10 st.* Repeat * to form the 2nd handle.
Row 42: Place *1 SC in the BLO of each of the 8 CH st, then 1 SC in the BLO of the 10 st between the handles.* Repeat * to work over the 2nd handle.
Rows 43 - 47: 1 SC in the BLO of each st in each row.
To finish off: SL st in following st, then insert crochet hook in the last stitch’s FLO, place 1 SC there and then follow the FLO stitches, placing 1 SC in each FLO until you get to the bottom of the wine tote (the pattern should flow seamlessly and might be a little tricky when you get to the stitches below each handle, but work in the FLO of those stitches as well.
At the bottom of the wine tote, cut and tie off your yarn.
