Learn how to create multilevel lists in Microsoft Word. We will begin by creating the list, then changing the list levels, and finally customizing the numbering and formatting for each level.

This tutorial is for Word for Microsoft 365 for PC and Word for Microsoft 365 for Mac (a.k.a., Word for Mac). These steps also apply to Word 2024, Word 2021, Word 2019, and Word 2016. These steps don't apply to Word for the web or Word for mobile.
