In this 4th lesson, we move beyond sketching and dive into creating and modifying a 3D model. Using the spool part as our example, you’ll learn how to transform a fully constrained sketch into a solid design and refine it with essential modeling tools.

We begin by using the Revolve command to spin a closed profile around an axis, creating a precise 3D shape. Next, we apply the Fillet command to round edges and improve part aesthetics and functionality. You’ll also discover the power of the Marking Menu, which provides quick access to context-sensitive commands like fillet and chamfer without navigating the main toolbar.

From there, we’ll create a slot feature using the Extrude command, ensuring it cuts through the model regardless of future changes. You’ll then learn how to add decorative holes with the Hole command and replicate them efficiently using Circular Patterning. Finally, we’ll walk through the process of saving your design into a new project, keeping your work organized and accessible.

By the end of this video, you’ll have a clear understanding of how to build, modify, and manage parts in Fusion. These foundational skills will set you up for success as we continue the series with editing the timeline in the next lesson.
