The two needle cast on emulates a knit stitch and is a popular beginner method of casting on. In this video we will show you how to cast on using the two needle method.
STEP-BY-STEP
Tip: Check out our long tail cast on video for an alternative cast on method.
1) Make a slip knot, slide it onto the needle, tighten and hold this needle in your left hand.
2) Insert right needle through the front of the slip knot stitch. Ensure right needle is behind left needle.
3) With the ball end of yarn behind the needles, wrap it around the tip of the right needle anti-clockwise.
4) With tip of right needle, carefully draw a loop by going down through the slip knot and out.
5) Bring the right needle up and carefully transfer this new stitch over to left hand needle and release right needle.
6) Tighten stitches. Repeat 2-5 until you have the desired cast on stitches.
And that’s how you cast on using two needles!
