Create a Stylized Custom MetaHuman in Unreal Engine 5 | Full Tutorial
In this video, I’ll show you the complete breakdown of how I created and animated this Stylized Custom MetaHuman in Unreal Engine 5.
Rather than going through every single step in detail, I’ll walk you through the overall workflow and explain the important parts of the process—from preparing the custom character and applying the textures, to setting up the hair, clothing, animation, and final character inside Unreal Engine.
I’ll also show you how I rig the custom hair and make it move naturally using Kawaii Physics, including how the hair setup is connected to the character so it follows the head properly during animation.
For the animation workflow, I’ll break down how I use MetaHuman facial and body animation, bring the animation into the Level Sequencer, connect the face and body animation tracks, and fix the facial animation when needed.
This tutorial is focused more on understanding the full workflow and how everything works together, rather than being a strict step-by-step tutorial.
If you want to create your own stylized MetaHuman characters for cinematics, animation, games, or virtual production, I hope this breakdown gives you a useful workflow to follow.
