Imagine you’re on the bandstand and it’s time to start the next song. The whole band looks at you, because you’re supposed to count it off.
But your mind is totally blank. You don’t remember the tempo and you don’t remember how the song goes. You panic and freeze as it feels like the whole audience sees into your soul.
So you quickly count off the song anyway, HOPING you’re close. Then as the band falls apart, crashes and burns… you realize your tempo was TOTALLY OFF.
