Need to convert your Windows system disk from **MBR to GPT** without reinstalling Windows?
In this step-by-step tutorial, I'll show you how to safely convert an existing Windows 10 or Windows 11 installation from MBR to GPT using the official **MBR2GPT** command-line tool.
This video also explains how to fix the common **MBR2GPT validation failed** error caused by having more than three partitions on the system disk.
✅ In this video:
• Check if your disk is MBR
• Verify the number of partitions
• Find your disk number using DiskPart
• Fix "MBR2GPT validation failed" error
• Delete the extra partition safely (after backup)
• Convert MBR to GPT using Command Prompt
• Change BIOS from Legacy to UEFI
• Boot Windows in UEFI mode
• Recreate the deleted partition
• Remove unwanted drive letters from the EFI partition
Commands used in this video:
mbr2gpt /disk:0 /validate /allowFullOS
mbr2gpt /disk:0 /convert /allowFullOS
⚠️ Important:
Always back up important files before deleting any partition. If your system disk has more than three partitions, you'll need to remove the extra partition before converting.
