How to Convert Canva To InDesign, a quick start guide video. Learn how to convert Canva designs to Adobe InDesign with ConvertMarkz by Markzware. Not just PDFs made in InDesign, but PDFs coming from anywhere and in this case from Canva.com. In addition to InDesign, ConvertMarkz will also take Canva to Affinity Publisher, QuarkXPress, and more. Here are the instruction steps:
1. After creating your design in Canva, search for “ConvertMarkz” in the Canva “Apps” section. ConvertMarkz: canva.com/your-apps/AAFu0NDeo60/convertmarkz
2. Click on the ConvertMarkz app.
3. Click the “Use in existing design” button and select your design.
4. Click the “Export to convert” button, the “Export” button, and the “Open export” button.
5. On the “ConvertMarkz wants to open” screen with the long link, click “Continue”.
6. Set up your MarkzPortal account and log in.
MarkzPortal will open your converted Canva document. (You’ll see a preview of the file, in spreads view.)
7. Choose the “Export Format” to convert your Canva design to InDesign, Affinity Publisher, QuarkXPress, IDML, PDF, TIFF, PNG, JPEG, GIF, TXT, HTML, or RTF Stories. In this case, we want to go from Canva to InDesign, so we select Adobe InDesign in MarkzPortal.
8. Click the “Convert” button, and the conversion begins.
9. Once the conversion is complete, click the “Download” button. (Your download notifications will notify you when the converted document has downloaded.
To open the document in your chosen format, double click the document. That will open your Canva layout in InDesign! The document is now fully editable, with all images, extracted at resolution used, all linked graphics, and the text. You can change the text, font type, images, font size, and other design elements.
