In this video, we show you how to connect a PLC emulated in FactoryTalk Logix Echo to Factory IO to test a PLC program using a simulated factory.
We begin by setting up an emulated CompactLogix 5380 controller in Logix Echo and creating a new project in Studio 5000 Logix Designer. We configure the IP address, declare tags, and write simple logic to control a conveyor in Factory IO.
After downloading the project to the emulated controller, we set up the Factory IO scene “1 - From A to B.” Using the Allen-Bradley Logix 5000 driver, we configure the IP address, establish the connection, and confirm communication with the emulated PLC.
Finally, we test the logic by running the simulation: the conveyor runs until the sensor is triggered and then stops, just as expected.
