On some of the grass trimmers in the STIHL range, our FSA 57 for example, it’s possible to replace the AutoCut 3-2 mowing head with the PolyCut 3-2 mowing head, so that you can use polymer blades instead of nylon mowing line.

🔶 First, make sure you’ve removed the battery or disconnected the power source. You need to remove the risk of the machine accidentally starting while you’re working on it.

🔶 Prop the machine up so that you can access the mowing head.

🔶 To remove the AutoCut mowing head, you need to grip the orange fan wheel at the top of the mowing head in one hand and then unscrew the head.

🔶 Take the PolyCut mowing head and screw it on tightly.

It’s that easy, you can switch between both heads at any point you wish!
