The final day of the 30 Days of Relief Wood Carving is upon us! I was originally planning on doing one carving and upload per day for 30 days straight but...that didn't work out for obvious reasons haha.

The wood spirit is such an old type of wood carving and can be seen in cultures in various forms all over the world and has existed in English craft for at least 500 years, and probably much longer.

Making something with hand tools only can be quite a challenge but also very satisfying. The Multi Joint Key Rack is one of the more satisfying things Ive made, especially since I milled and planed my own lumber to make it.
Its a fairly simple woodworking project but you could of course make it as complicated as you like. I got the maple block from a friends dads farm, the spalting is incredible and really adds something to the design. The pieces of sapele used as key fobs were recycled from wood from a factory.

I had a folding coat hook design in my head for a while and so thought Id try it out with some lettering I carved recently for a Skillshare class. Its a simple woodoworking project which can be completed with very few tools and is a nice little space saver and perhaps a talking point if you get more artistic with it.
