How to build an awesome hand tamper tool from scrap metal, easy metal projects and ideas. I needed to build me a custom 8x8 inch tamper so I grabbed some scrap metal and built my own tool. I will use this to compact some clay and some fill dirt on 2 different projects. The local store sold a hand tamper for $50 but it was to big and light for my needs. Scrap metal always turns into something useful here.
