While performing an inventory count of raw metal, a friend noticed a co-worker counting thin-gauge sheets using side-view pictures of the stacks taken with a cellphone instead of manually counting each metal sheet. When the co-worker was questioned for their method of counting the thin-gauge sheets, they replied, "It's good enough". But there had been an ongoing issue with the accuracy of the thin gage sheet mail inventory that had resulted in over 100,000 dollars in losses to the company. This prompts the question Is 'good enough' really good enough?
