In today’s video, I’m showing you how to integrate your xTool P2 laser engraver into Home Assistant using a HACS integration! This allows you to track the machine's status and trigger automations—like automatically turning on an extractor fan when a job starts. This also works for other devices in the xTool family.
I initially tried using a smart plug with energy monitoring, but that didn’t work well with the fire suppression system. Instead, I found an API endpoint that provides the machine’s state, and thanks to BassXT’s HACS integration, we can easily expose this as a sensor in Home Assistant.
Let’s check it out! 🔥
