For many of us the body can feel like a dangerous place. It's the cause of so much pain and hurt. Some might even say, it's where it all began. And that it's the last thing they want to connect with. For many it does not feel safe to meet the body.
But our body is also what we've all got in common. It's our System's meeting place, so to say. We all have to share the same body, even if we don't agree on many things, if we look totally different, if we are from different species.
In this session we'll explore how somatic therapies can be adapted and integrated into our therapy sessions or into our life. We will start with our own journey of discovering that we are a system and how somatic therapies have challenged us, a lot, and at the same time made our progress possible.
We follow our own journey with some examples how we adjust modalities with our clients, and offer some explorations to experience some somatic practices. We are ending the talk with the opportunity to experience some somatic practice if that feels safe enough on the day.

Hi, we are The Loucas, or some might know us as Johannah & Co from Natural Holistics and BodyWise – Many Selves, One Body.
We are a polyfragmented system, Wounded Healer, a peer support advocate and educator about living with dissociation, dissociative identities and organised extreme abuse for other survivors as well as professionals.
We are also a Somatic Trauma Therapist, Brainspotting practitioner, RMTi consultant, Trauma Informed Yoga Teacher and Reiki Master.
All the modalities we use as a Somatic Therapist have helped us on our own healing journey.
Through our own lived experiences as well as the professional continuing trainings we have adapted how we offer support and therapy for extreme trauma and dissociation. It’s a blend of what has worked for us as well as the wisdom from our teachers and supervisors.
