This analogy blew away our students!

VTS coach Bri’s air-hockey table analogy is so good…

No air? the puck isn’t going anywhere…

Turn the air on? Now the puck is bouncing off the walls and moving fast!

Because your voice is a wind instrument, it’s the same thing here!

No air? The sound is flat and it can feel hard and tight to get the sound out.

Air on? That’s your support and it caries out the note beautifully and effortlessly!

So if you’ve been trying to figure out what singing with support means…

It’s basically just turning on your air - using the right amount of air for the note you’re singing.

That’s it!

The VTS coaches and I recorded a whole episode on singing with support, including exercises you can practice to feel more supported when you sing.

You can check it out anywhere you listen to podcasts or on our YT channel to catch the video!
