Galian Beast is a really, really tough boss, made only more difficult by having Cait Sith in your party, especially if you havent gotten the hang of using him yet. The best thing to do is charge up your ATB and wait for him to cast Inner Turmoil or Chaotic Consumption, then use Infinitys End with Cloud. Moogle Knuckle can also knock him out, if it deals high damage.

The difficulty of this fight comes from the water you fight it in. Lightning scatters on water, making all of his attacks have an AOE effect. Stick to riding on torrent and rotating around the bosss hind legs and you should have an easier go of it. Dont forget about Dragonwound Grease!

The thing that turned this fight around for me was using a Smart Rifle instead of the shotgun. This level definitely tries to stick you with the shotgun at every opportunity, but in case that happens to you, use a reroll on a weapon you find late in the level, before going into the boss fight!
