There's lots of ways you can go about 3D printing a helmet and each of them have their pros and cons, but in today's video I'm showing you how I print my helmets in just ONE piece using CURA Custom Supports on my Creality CR10s.

As a side note, I’m working off of a Windows 10 PC. Some of you let me know in the comments that your Mac machines aren’t showing some options and I apologize for that! I wasn’t aware that the two programs might be different on different OS’s.

I print my helmets in this orientation mostly when filling Etsy orders and when I'm just willing to take the chance on a several-day print for the sake of saving me some elbow grease in the future. Obviously this only works with a print bed large enough to fit your helmet, but don't feel limited by a smaller bed. I've seen people print out a Mando helmet on an Ender 3 before, just have to get a bit tetris-y on the build plate.

Even if you're new to 3D printing, this is an easy way to save on print time AND filament and it only requires you to download a free plug-in for Ultimaker Cura.

I've got some other helmet printing videos where I go over how (and why) I used to print my helmets in multiple pieces (and to be honest, I still will print in multiple pieces from time to time - depends on the model) but if you've ever wanted to learn how I orient and slice my helmets to print all in one go, this video's for you.
