This video is the second in a series that plans to explore the trajectory of American World War 2 movies. Each video will explore themes around certain time periods in American cinematic history, and they will explore questions that may arise from each period of films. This video explores the 1980s and the lack of WWII movies that occur during this period. Why is that? Perhaps looking at the couple of WWII movies that exist and other films that depict military combat from the time period can reveal what is going on with American culture and its outlook on war during this time. As we move forward, let’s think about how this context may influence the response to future WWII movies.
