In the Chinese calendar, 2026 marks the Year of the Fire Horse. The Spring Festival, which began on 17 February, is now underway in several Asian countries and among diasporas around the world.
âŠwhich gives us the perfect opportunity to promote our very own Dala horse!
These wooden horses have been crafted since the 1700s. Originally made from leftover wood in local furniture workshops, they were first sold as toys at markets in central Sweden.
Even today, they are crafted by hand, using traditional methods. In NusnĂ€s, Dalarna, youâll find Grannas A. Olssons Hemslöjd AB, the oldest Dala horse manufacturer still in operation.
