In this short video, how the Schottky Diode is different from the normal diode is explained.

_Schottky diode has lower forward voltage drop and faster switching speed compared to normal PN junction diode. And therefore it is preferred in High power applications where good efficiency is required and it is also used in high frequency and fast switching applications_

*Applications:*
1. SMPS and DC-DC converter
2. Battery operated systems
3. Solar panels
4. RF mixtures and detector circuits
