Preflight for DTP and print didn’t start as software — it started as an idea.
In this Short, Chuck Weger, who coined the term preflight for print, explains how the concept was born during the early days of DTP (desktop publishing). Inspired by aviation checklists, preflight began as a manual quality-control processto prevent RIP and PostScript crashes before digital print files ever reached prepress, film, or press.
