Elected officials aren’t technically allowed to enrich themselves through their positions.

In the Constitution it says elected officials cannot accept any "Emolument, Office, or Title" without congressional approval. Similarly, the STOCK Act affirms that members of congress are subject to insider trading laws. But with news of crypto memecoin dinners and conveniently-timed tariffs, some feel that these rules are being tested. Follow the money in this episode of Simple Civics!
