One of the hallmarks of MTSU's College of Education is its commitment to giving future teachers meaningful classroom experience earlier than almost any other teacher preparation program.

A shining example is Lead in Literacy, the college's partnership with Murfreesboro City Schools that prepares MTSU students to teach foundational literacy skills in elementary classrooms while making a positive impact on young learners.

We sit down with the program's faculty leaders, Dr. Katie Schrodt and Dr. Bonnie Barksdale, to discuss how Lead in Literacy is shaping the next generation of educators and why the partnership continues to be a success for both MTSU students and the local community.
