I wasn’t planning to make another video about the Let Them Theory controversy, but a recent Guardian feature on Mel Robbins made it hard to stay quiet.
The article gives Robbins space to respond to concerns about the origins of her "Let Them" story and the accusations of plagiarism, but it includes no detail on what those concerns actually are. The writer even says, “I agree it’s fairly weak criticism,” which makes sense when they only include Robbins’ spin on it.
There’s a double standard here, especially against the backdrop of last week’s Guardian editorial: “The Guardian view on The Salt Path scandal: memoirists have a duty to tell the truth.” Does this responsibility only apply to one genre?
