Sept 4th was my first day free to do whatever I want with my time. I love that I get to arrange my schedule in the ways that work best for me.
My brain is at peak productivity in the mornings so I prefer to get work done early in the mornings. Unfortunately, when I was working I needed to be available most of the day so I’d have to use early morning to work out, shower, and get dressed for the day. So my first day unemployed, I did exactly what I wanted to do - get up early and knock some stuff out when I’m most productive.
My productivity starts to get a bit light around 11am so this is when I went to the gym and I gotta be honest, it felt good to be at the gym NOT checking teams messages JUST focusing on my workout.
I spent my lunch time hanging out with my kid and then took a lil nap to reset for the day.
In the afternoon, my productivity levels are decent but not super high so this is when I prefer to get administrative things done, that don’t require a ton of brain power or creativity. It’s also when I prefer to have meetings. So that’s what I did!
I did find myself working late, mainly because I was so ready to pull forward a bunch of my someday projects. This is not an every night occurrence though bc ya girl is focused on getting at least 6-7 hours of sleep every night.
All that to say, one benefit of fUNemployment is getting to arrange your day in ways that work best for your productivity cycles.
