Need to know how to restore faded laminate furniture? Maybe you have an old retro cabinet or table in that wood look laminate and you love it but it's faded. Let me show to the cheap and easy way to restore the surface back to it's original richness and shine. To fix faded laminate, you need to keep in mind that is a type of plastic. But did you know you can sand plastic? We're going to use steel wool to sand it so it's less abrasive. I'm actually using synthetic steel wool as its washable and reusable. After we have cleaned and sanded our faded laminate furniture with steel wool, it's time to penetrate the plastic to revive the colour and shine. I'm using Turtle brand Trim Restorer that i purchased from the auto store. It's quite cheap and you only need a small amount. Simply wipe it on, let sit for 5 minutes and then buff it off with a clean dry cloth. You might need to do another layer if it still looks faded. You can also use a car polishing buffer to buff in the trim restorer for a really nice even finish.
